SoftLayer Adds Storage Replication

Dallas-based SoftLayer Technologies, a provider of web hosting and other related services, said Monday that it has added geographic storage replication to its offerings. The firm said it has added iSCSI storage and online disk backup to allow users to replicate data across multiple data centers. The new offering is part of the company's StorageLayer service. Replication is used by IT administrators to backup their data to a secondary or backup site. Pricing on the new services was not released.
