SoftLayer, The Planet Merge Operations

Dallas-based SoftLayer Technologies and The Planet said this week that they have begun merged operations under the SoftLayer name. SoftLayer--which completed its merger on November 9th--said it now has over 76,000+ servers deployed across 10 data centers, and now has a total of 24,000 customer accounts in 110 countries. SoftLayer is owned by private equity firm GI Partners, which acquired The Planet in August. SoftLayer is a provider of data center services and hosting.
