Sante Ventures Debuts $130M Fund
Newly formed investment firm Sante Ventures announced Monday that it has concluded its debut venture capital fund after generating some $130 million in committed capital. The Austin, Texas-based business noted the amount was the maximum permitted for the original offering, which was targeted at $100 million. Sante explained that the fund is intended for startup and early stage companies developing innovative medical technologies and health care services. Sante Ventures is led by three managing directors: Douglas D. French, Dr. Joe Cunningham and Kevin M. Lalande of Austin Ventures. The firm said it primarily invests in health care-related businesses located in the Central United States.
