TVA Medical Gets $2.6M

Austin-based TVA Medical, a developer of minimally invasive medical devices for treating End-Stage Renal Disease, has raised $2.6M in a Series A funding, according to venture capital firm Sante Ventures. Along with the deal, Sante Ventures said that TVA's founder, William (Billy) Cohn, MD, a cardiovascular surgeon at the Texas Health Institute at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, has become a Venture Partner at the firm. Sante Ventures said that Adam Berman has been named CEo of TVA, and that the new funding will go to complete product development and conduct human trials.
