Teladoc Claims Legal Win Over Texas Medical Board
Dallas-based telemedicine provider Teladoc is claiming a legal win over the Texas Medical Board, saying Friday that a federal court has blocked a recent action by the regulatory body. Teladoc said that the judge has backed Teladoc'sbelief that a recent ruling by the Texas Medical Board illegally limits competition by requiring a face-to-face visit before physicians are allowed to prescribe medicine to patients. The legal tussles between Teladoc and the Texas Medical Board revolve around a new revision to medical practice regulation by the Texas Medical Board adopted on April 10th, which Teleadoc said was aimed at hindering Teladoc's ability to operate in the state.
