eGistics Acquires Virtual Image Tech

Dallas-based eGistics Inc., a provider of hosted image and data archive services, announced Tuesday that it has acquired Virtual Image Technology Inc., an online archive headquartered in Fort Mill, S.C. Terms of the deal, which closed on Dec. 7, were not disclosed. eGistics said the acquisition bolsters its position in the hosted image and data archive market by increasing its product offerings in key vertical segments. Established in 1975 as a traditional micrographics services provider, Virtual Image Technology now focuses on providing online archive services to health care, financial, utility, retail and commercial organizations in the Northeast and Southeast.
