Yahoo! to Feature Local Belo TV News Clips

Dallas-based Media conglomerate Belo Corp. announced Wednesday that 13 of its television stations will be the exclusive provider of local news video in their respective markets to Yahoo! News, the news portal of Internet search heavyweight Yahoo!. The financial impact of the agreement was not disclosed. Belo said Yahoo! will host dozens of local news video clips from Belo’s television stations on a daily basis. Belo noted that the markets covered by the deal are: Austin, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Houston; Portland, Oregon; Charlotte, N.C.; Hampton/Norfolk, Va.; Seattle/Tacoma, Wash.; Spokane, Wash.; Louisville, Ky.; St. Louis; New Orleans; Tucson, Ariz.; and Phoenix. In addition to television, Belo Corp. operates various newspaper, cable and Web-based assets, including The Dallas Morning-News. Yahoo! Inc. is headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif.
