A.H. Belo Ties With Startup Accelerator

Dallas-based A.H. Belo, the publishing company behind The Dallas Morning News, Denton Record-Chronicle, and other publications, said it has signed on as a partner with Silicon Valley startup accelerator and investor Matter. Details on the partnership were not announced. Matter was founded by KQED Public Media for Northern California, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Public Radio Exchange in 2012, and also includes the involvement of The Associated Press, The McClatchy Company, and Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. Matter offers up investments of up to $50,000 and runs a five month program in San Francisco aimed at media-focused startups.
