Dell Pays $155M For MessageOne

Computer manufacturer Dell Inc. revealed Tuesday that it has agreed to purchase on-demand software publisher MessageOne Inc. for some $155 million in cash. Dell said the transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions, has already been given the go-ahead from both companies' boards. Dell explained that the acquisition complements its services strategy of providing its customers and business partners with a configurable suite of software-as-a-service applications. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, MessageOne publishes on-demand archiving, e-mail management and business continuity software. Dell is based in nearby Round Rock, Texas.
