Dell Pays $67 Billion For EMC

Round Rock-based Dell announced this morning that it has agreed to pay $67 billion for data storage giant EMC, in a combination of cash and stock. Dell said that the company, along with private equity investors MSD Partners and Silver Lake, will pay $33.15 per share for each share of EMC, split between $24.05 per share in cash and 0.111 shares of tracking stock related to the value of VMware. VMware will continue to be listed as a public company.
