Slacker Teams With Music Labels
Slacker, the online music streaming and personal radio service with operations in Austin, said this morning that it has entered into agreements with EMI Music Publishing, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Universal Music Publishing Group and Warner/Chappell Music over the firm's portable radio players. According to Slacker, the music publishers have agreed togive the firm content rights which will allow users of its Slacker Portable Radio Players to transfer and play songs from Slacker's online radio service. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed. Slacker's Portable Radio Players allow customers of Slacker to tune into their own, personalized radio stations. The device--which updates music via Wi-Fi or a PC connection--also stores and allows replay of specific songs.
