Wayport Teams On Wireless Photo Sharing
Austin, Texas-based Wayport, which operates a network of WiFi hotspots, has teamed with a Silicon Valley manufacturer of a wireless memory card for digital cameras. Wayport said that Eye-Fi customers will gain access to its 10,000 plus hotspot locations in the United States to upload their videos directly from their cameras to their personal computer or online web sites. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Eye-Fi's wireless memory card allows users to automatically upload their photos from wireless hotspots, and also automatically geotags user photos. According to Eye-Fi, photographers do not need to have an account with Wayport to use its network for free.
