Wayport Links With Nikon

Austin-based Wi-Fi networking services provider Wayport has inked a deal with camera manufacturer Nikon, in conjunction with the launch of a new Nikon camera. Nikon said Thursday that it has launched a new wireless camera, the COOLPIX S610c, which features the ability to share photos through a wireless connection. As part of the deal with Wayport, the firm's service now allows consumers to share their images and videos through Wayport's network of Wi-Fi hotspots. Wayport operates over 10,000 wireless hotspots, within McDonald's restaurants and major hotel chains. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Nikon, buyers of its new camera will receive free access to Wayport's Wi-FI services until August 31 of 2011.
