Handango Names Bloom Content, International VP

Smartphone applications distributor Handango reported Thursday that it has hired Alex Bloom as vice president of content and international. In that role, Handango explained, Bloom will manage domestic and international content acquisitions and revenue strategies while also helping to optimize content and e-commerce services. Prior to joining Handango, Bloom was general manager of Motricity's smartphone business. Before that, he supervised content for Verizon Wireless. Handango utilizes a proprietary content delivery platform to link its 16,000-plus content partners to millions of smartphone and other hand-held device users. The company is headquartered in Hurst, Texas.
