GW Equity Shops Carpathia Hosting to Spire Capital

Dallas-based private investment advisory firm GW Equity announced Monday that it has sold client Carpathia Hosting Inc. to Spire Capital Partners LP of New York. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Founded in 2000, Spire Capital is a private equity group with some $600 million in assets under management. Established in 2003 and headquartered in Ashburn, Va., Carpathia Hosting provides hosted information technology services, including load balancing, remote monitoring and backup facilities collocation. GW Equity said Carpathia sought its services after Carpathia’s original owners decided to pursue other business ventures.
