Dell To Transition To LED Displays On Laptops
Dell Inc. reported today that it plans to transition all new laptop displays to light-emitting diode technology within the next year. The Round Rock, Texas-based computer manufacturer said such a feat reinforces its commitment of becoming Earth's "greenest" technology company. Dell said that by Dec. 15, a full two-thirds of its Latitude E-Family laptops will be shipped with mercury-free LED back-lighting as a standard feature. This product line includes the E4200, E4300, E6400, E6400 ATG and E6500 models, the company noted. Dell's Precision M2400 and M4400 mobile workstations will also come equipped with LED back-lighting as standard, the company added.
