Entrust Wins French Bank

Entrust Inc., a provider of data authentication and protection software and products, revealed Wednesday that one of France's largest banking institutions, Societe Generale, has selected Entrust's IdentityGuard solution. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. Entrust explained that its IdentityGuard authentication platform will replace Societe Generale's existing verification system, which is based on third-party hardware tokens. Entrust added that it expects Societe Generale to deploy some 1,500 IdentityGuard grid cards. Societe Generale operates in 82 countries and serves some 27 million customers worldwide. Entrust is headquartered in Addison, Texas, a Dallas suburb.
