Hyper9 Secures $8M in Series B Funding
Austin-based virtualization software publisher Hyper9 Inc. has closed a second round of venture financing worth $8 million, according to reports. According to the Austin Business Journal, the Series B funding came from first-time investor Venrock and previous investors Silverton Partners, Matrix Partners and Maples Investments. Counting the firm's Series A and angel efforts, Hyper9 has now raised $17.2 million in venture financing. Founded in 2006, Hyper9 originally operated as InovaWave Inc. but changed its name in February 2008 to "better align and communicate" its products and business.
