Dell Partners On Virtualization
Round Rock-based computer maker Dell is making a major move into the server virtualization space, saying today at the VMworld conference that it has inked three major partnerships in the sector. According to Dell, it has inked OEM relationships with Brocade, Scalent, and VMware to bolster its offerings for the virtual server market. Financial details of the relationships were not disclosed. The deals include OEM versions of Brocade and Scalent's respective products, and incorporation of VMware's VIEW into Dell Virtual Remote Desktop solution. Server virtualization is a technique, enabled by software such as VMware, which combines multiple operating system images on "virtual" systems running on a single, physical computer.
