Texas Bucks Trend, Gets More VC In Q3
A report released over the weekend shows that Texas is seriously bucking national venture capital investment trends, and raised $192M in 29 deals, an increase of 44 percent over Q3 of last year. The increase bucks the national trend, which saw a drop of 38 percent year over year in investments nationally. The report, which came from Dow Jones VentureSource, found that there were only $5.1 billion in 616 deals nationally, down significantly year to year, in what Dow Jones said indicated the "worst investment year since 2003" for the nation.
