Trend Micro Expands In Austin
Dallas-based Trend Micro, which develops cybersecurity software, said today that it is expanding its presence in Texas, and has opened up a new office in Austin. According to Trend Micro, it is opening up a new, 75,000 square foot, three story office in The Domain in northwest Austin, to house its new team members from its recently acquisition of TippingPoint. Trend Micro said the new office in Austin was a "natural choice", citing the location in Austin's technology corridor and calling Austin a "booming" technology city. Trend Micro recently acquired TippingPoint from Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). TippingPoint, which already was based in Austin, develops intrusion prevention systems (IPS); Trend Micro paid $300M for TippingPoint, in a deal announed in October of 2015 and which completed in March of last year.
