Freescale Links With Electronic Book Effort

Austin-based Freescale has scored a design win in the electronic book reader market, saying today that it has linked with E Ink Corporation, a leading supplier of electronic paper displays. According to Freescale, the firm has agreed with E Ink Corporation, to jointly develop system-on-a-chip solutions using Freescale's i.MX processors with E Ink's Vizplex display controllers. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. E Ink is a venture backed firm developing flexible, "electronic paper" technology that can be used to develop electronic book readers and related products.
