Clearwire Expands Texas Coverage

Wireless access provider Clearwire said Thursday that the firm is expanding its coverage in Texas, and will be adding Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, and San Antonio in November. The firm--which launched initial service in September to Abilene, Amarillo, Corpus Christi, Killeen/Temple, Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, Waco and Wichita Falls--said the launch comes in conjunction with Sprint. Clearwire said that the two companies will offer 4G mobile Internet based on Clearwire's network, under their own brands. Clearwire operates a WiMax-based wireless network.
