BMC Wins Utility Customer

Houston-based BMC Software has scored a new utility customer, saying this morning it has signed UGI Utilities, a provider of natural gas and electric service to the eastern US. According to BMC, UGI is using the firm's mainframe service management solutions, including BMC APPTUNE for DB2. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. UGI is using BMC's various tools for managing their IBM DB2 databases running on a mainframe.
