Freescale Ships New Chip For Industrial, Automotive Market
Austin-based Freescale Semiconductor announced this morning that it has shipped a new microcontroller, specifically targeted at embedded motor control. The new S08MP16 8-bit microcontroller is used for things such as industrial drives and automotive fuel pumps. The firm said the microcontroller is now available in sample quantities, with production planned in early 2010.
