Viral Genetics Gets $750K, Sets Up Shop In Georgetown
A California-based biotechnology firm, Viral Genetics, announced today that it has received $750,000 from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund, and is relocating its research facilities to Georgetown, Texas. According to Viral Genetics, its lead scientist, Dr. Karen Newell, has joined the Texas A&M University's College of Medicine has received a $750,000 grant to research bio-fuels from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund. According to Viral Genetics, the move came through the joint efforts of the Texas Life Sciences Collaboration Center (TLCC), the State of Texas and Opportunity Austin. Newell was previously based at the University of Colorado.
