Dell Gets Eco Certification
Round Rock-based Dell said today that the firm has received a certification on its bamboo packaging, which it uses for its Mini 10, Mini 10v, and Inspiron notebooks. The firm said that the packaging--made out of mechanically pulped bamboo from China--has been certified as "compostable" under the ASTM D-6400 certification standard. The firm said the move is part of its efforts to move towards environmentally responsible alternatives to traditional packaging materials. The firm said it began using bamboo in its packaging in November 2009.
