Woot Acquired By Amazon.com

Carrollton, Texas-based Woot, the online deals site, has been acquired by Amazon.com, the firm said Wednesday afternoon. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Woot, it will become an independent subsidiary of Amazon, and will remain in Carrollton. Woot is headed by CEO Matt Rutledge, and was backed by Amazon.com. Woot provides daily deal offers on electronic items.
