Woot's First Amazon Move: Cheap Kindle

One day after Carrollton-based Woot was acquired by e-commerce giant Amazon.com, the firms booted up their first online deal involving an Amazon product, the Amazon Kindle. In a special promotion on the first day after the acquisition, Woot put the Amazon Kindle on sale for $149.99 plus $5 in shipping. Amazon's recently reduced list price on the Kindle is $189. The deal sold out by 8:20 A.M. Central Time, and according to the site's stats page, it sold 4,968 of the Kindles during that time. Financial terms of the acquisition, announced yesterday by Woot CEO Matt Rutledge, was not announced.
