ACS Buys UK Software Firm

Dallas-based Affiliated Computer Services, which is now a unit of Xerox, said today that it has acquire UK-based Spur Information Solutions, a developer of parking enforcement software. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. ACS said the acquisition will help it expand globally and broaden its services. Spur's software is used by governments to enforce local parking codes, including handling parking notices and permits, as well as violation reporting. ACS is already a provider of parking, toll booth, mass transit, and other related services to the transportation industry.
