Newtoy Acquired By Zynga

McKinney, Texas-based Newtoy, a developer of mobile games, has been acquired by social games giant Zynga. Zynga said this morning that it is acquiring Newtoy, maker of the Games With Friends franchise, and turning the firm's McKinney headquarters into the The Zynga With Friends Studio. Newtoy's titles include Words With Friends and Chess With Friends. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Newtoy was headed by Paul Bettner, who becomes VP and GM of The Zynga With Friends Studio. Bettner co-founded NewToy in 2008 with brother Paul, as well as Michael Chow, who serves as Chief Operating Officer.
