American Says Ticket Sales Up, Despite Orbitz and Expedia Dispute

Fort Worth-based American Airlines said last night that its ticket sales over the last week have been up, despite its dispute with Expedia and Orbitz. American pulled its listings from Orbitz since December 21st over a dispute over use of airline fare distribution systems rather than direct connections to American; Expedia began listing American's flights lower in its searches in support of Orbitz on December 23rd. American claims that users have shifted to sites like Priceline.com, Kayak.com, and its own web site.
