ShopSavvy Adds Fruit, Food Info
Dallas-based ShopSavvy, the developer of the popular mobile barcode scanning application of the same name, has connected its app to additional information about food and farms. The firm said that it is now pulling up information about family farms, in a partnership with Top 10 Produce, when users scan the barcode on certain fruits and vegetables. ShopSavvy explained that as more and more produce items include scan-able barcodes, it though it "might be cool" to get information about where a particular fruit is grown. The ShopSavvy app now includes pictures, Facebook pages, Twitter feeds, and maps on those items.
