Spiceworks Adds UPS, Power Monitoring

Austin-based Spiceworks, the developer of IT management software, said today that it has tied with Eaton Corporation, a provider of UPS and power management products, to add free UPS monitoring and power management tools to its software. Spiceworks said the two have added features to remotely monitor and manage uninterruptible power systems for free through the software. Spiceworks said the new features are available in its 5.1 beta release. The company said the new features will allow IT professionals to remotely monitor the status of UPSs, check on battery health, and more.
