Alpheus Adds IPv6

Houston-based communications and data center provider Alpheus Communications said today that it has upgraded its fiber network to IPv6. The firm said it has been working on the upgrade for over a year. Alpheus said it tapped technology from Alcatel-Lucent for the network upgrade. IPv6 is the newest Internet Protocol for addressing systems on a network, and succeeds IPv4, which is running out of addresses.
