WhaleShark Bolsters Executive Ranks

Austin-based WhaleShark Media, the online coupon and deals site operator, has bolstered its executive team with two high visibility hires, saying today that it has named Paul Rogers as Chief Technology Officer, and Steven Pho as Senior Director, Business Development. Rogers was the head of Google's Austin offices, led the engineering team at BazaarVoice, and also served at Trilogy Software. Rogers also has been an advisor at Austin Ventures and is well known in the Austin technology community. Pho was most recently at investment banking firm Thomas Weisel Partners in San Francisco, as Vice President, Internet and New Media. WhaleShark runs RetailMeNot, one of the biggest coupon sites in the U.S., plus other sites like Deals.com. The firm is venture backed by Austin Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners and Adams Street Partners.
