GameStop Links With Virgin Gaming
Grapevine-based GameStop, the videogame retailer, said today along with Virgin Gaming that the two are partnering on an online video gaming tournament effort. According to the two companies, Virgin Gaming will become the preferred online tournament provider for console game release sold at GameStop's U.S. locations and from online sales. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Virgin Gaming is a provider of online competitions for console gamers. GameStop and Virgin Gaming said the deal will allow GameStop customers to win cash and prizes through co-branded tournaments, and also allow customers to earn "Virgin Gaming" credits for games and other merchandise.
