MapMyRIDE Powers Online Cycling Challenge

Austin-based MapMyRIDE, the online cycling site run by MapMyFITNESS, is powering a new, online virtual cycling site from USA Pro Cycling Challenge and Millennium Promise. According to the three, they are running the USA Pro Virtual Cycling Challenge, an event which will allow cycling enthusiasts to virtually compete in the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, plus raise money to help end extreme poverty in Africa. Financial details of the relationships between the companies were not disclosed. The effort uses MapMyRIDE's online site and smartphone app to log daily ride miles from participants, who can "virtually ride" alongside the pros competing in the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. Those miles logged will go towards up to $25,000 to support the nonprofit efforts of Millennium Promise.
