Austin Ranks As Top Technology Town

A new ranking today from Scientific American puts Austin as number 4, in terms of "geek friendliness". In the ranking, Scientific America placed Austin fourth, after Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, in terms of its geek friendliness, after ranking cities against how many stores sell tech gadgets, the availability of free, wireless Internet, how many technology jobs were in the region, the number of highly ranked engineering schools, plus the presence of an "active geek community."
