Austin Tech Industry Targets California For Recruits
In a big hiring push, the Austin Technology Council is announcing today that it is targeting the hiring of employees from California, with a tour and recruiting events in the San Francisco Bay Area. The group said it is holding two recruiting events--one in San Francisco, the other in Sunnyvale, in the heart of Silicon Valley--in an attempt to recruit engineers, coders, programmers, and software developers. Those events will include over 30 Austin area technology CEOs and companies, including Affinegy, Bancvue, Bazaarvoice, CacheIQ, Catapult, Calxeda, Collider Media, Creditcards.com, Gazzang, Gowalla, Homeaway, Ihiji, Less Networks, Mutual Mobile, Phunware, Ravel, SailPoint, Spredfast, Vast and Whaleshark. The Austin Technology Council cited a shortage of technically skilled talent in Austin, despite demand for tech talent in the region.
