Benchmark Electronics Boots Up New Facility In Thailand
In a bid to get its swamped, Thailand operations back up and running, Angleton, Texas-based Benchmark Electronics reported this morning that it has started up operations in a formerly vacant facility in Korat, Thailand. Benchmark said its facility in Korat began manufacturing operations on October 17th, after its main manufacturing facility in Ayudhaya Thailand was inundated by floodwaters. Benchmark said its efforts to restart the facility came as part of its business continuity plan. Benchmark reported that it had shut its operations in Thailand on October 13th, due to flooding in Thailand--the worst seen by that country in years.
