WP Engine Gets $1.2M For WordPress Security, Hosting
Austin-based WP Engine, a provider of hosting and security for the WordPress blogging software package, said this morning that it has raised $1.2M in a Series A funding round. The round was led by Silverton Partners, and also included angels Eric Ries, Loic Le Meur, Dharmesh Shah, Jeremy Benken, Bill Boebel, Rob Walling and others. The company also scored an investment from Automattic, the developer of the WordPress software. As part of the funding, Silverton's Kip McClanahan joins the company's board. WP Engien said it will use the funding to recruit and scale its product and "customer happiness" teams. WP Engine was founded by Jason Cohen. More information »
