GlobalSCAPE Buys Mobile File Access Firm
San Antonio-based GlobalSCAPE, the developer of file transfer software, announced today that it has acquired TappIn, a developer of mobile applications for accessing your home or desktop files. GlobalScape will pay $17M for TappIn, split between $9M in cash and $8M in earnout. GlobalSCAPE will offer up TappIn's software for the iPhone iPad, Android, and Windows Phone as TappIn by GlobalSCAPE. TappIn was known as HomePipe Networks, and was based in Seattle.
