Gazzang Links With Medical Records Firm
Austin-based Gazzang, the developer of database encryption and security tools, reported today that echoBase, a developer of software for the patient medical records and systems market, is using its data encryption products. Gazzang said that echoBase, which develops a mobile interface for electronic medical records and practice management systems, is using its product to provide encryption of Linux, MySQL, and other open source applications and services to comply with HIPAA, HITECH, and Meaningful Use guidelines. Financial impact of the win was not announced. Gazzang's CEO is Larry Warnock, and the firm is backed by Austin Ventures.
