Gazzang Links With Hadoop Distribution Pivotal HD

Austin-based data security software Gazzang has linked into big data software developer Pivotal, adding its data encryption and key management support into the Pivotal HD distribution of Hadoop. According to Gazzang, Pivotal's customers are already using its encryption and key management software in the areas ofpayment, insurance and financial data. Hadoop is a widely used, big data analytics software product which is used by companies to run big data queries against their data. Gazzang offers up encryption tools medical, which work with open source products--such as Hadoop--to encrypt key data to meet regualtory and security requirements. Gazzang is backed by Austin Ventures and Silver Creek Ventures.
