Austin's High Tech Center Secret: Mashup of Hippies, Cowboys, Scientists

Why is Austin one of the few places in the U.S. which have been successful in creating a high tech center of innovation? According to Silicon Valley venture captalist Victor Hwang (and former Austin resident), it's the "mashup culture of hippies, cowboys and scientists in a tight community." Hwang is the author of The Rainforest: The Secret to Building the Next Silicon Valley. Hwang made the comments in an interview with ReadWriteWeb.
