Javelin Semiconductor Gets Design Win In Samsung Galaxy Appeal
Austin-based CMOS semiconductor developer Javelin Semiconductor said this morning that its chips are shipping in the latest, Samsung Galaxy device, the Android-based Galaxy Appeal smartphone. The firm said its high performance, CMOS 3G Power Amplifier (PA) is being used in the device to support 3G connectivity for the phone. Samsung's Galaxy Appeal is a new, Android, 3G smartphone with a 3.2 inch touchscreen and QWERTY slider keyboard. Javelin did not say what kind of shipment volumes it expects on the phone, but said its JAV550X PA is in full production support for manufacturers.
