Javelin Semiconductor Wins Galaxy S Design
Austin-based Javelin Semiconductor, which develops high performance, CMOS 3G power amplifiers (PAs) for the smart phone market, has scored another win with Samsung Electronics, reporting that its Pas will be used in Samsung's new Galaxy S Duos smartphone. The firm is already shipping in the Galaxy Ace Plus and Galaxy Appeal from Samsung. Javelin did not say what kind of volumes it expects from Samsung's new phone. Samsung's Android smartphone includes a 4-inch touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and other features. Javelin's chips are used for 3G wireless functionality.
