Video Game Testing Firm Sets Up Shop in Austin

A provider of outsource, video game testing and localization services Pole To Win America, said today that it is setting up a new arm in Austin, and has big hiring plans. Pole To Win said it will begin operations by hiring roughly 50 testers in Austin, to help provide QA testing for home consoles and PC game titles. The firm said it selected Austin because of its "rich pool o talent", plus the city's rank as the third-largest concentration of video game companies in America, based in research firm TXP. The company also pointed to the large number of universities, including UT Austin, has resulted in a large population of young adults intimately familiar with video games.
