Gazzang Sets Kirkland As CTO

Austin-based Gazzang, the developer of IT security tools, said today that it has named Dustin Kirkland as the firm's Chief Technology Officer. Kirkland was previously Chief Architect at the company, and also has previously served at Canonical and IBM Tivoli. Kirkland has been involved in a number of open source projects, including Byobu, aNerd, OverlayRoot, and PowerNap. Gazzang is venture backed by Austin Ventures and Silver Creek Ventures, and develops database encryption tools and related security software.
